Parametric study of twin tunnel under seismic loads for Cairo Metro Line No. 4

چکیده

The damage of tunnel induced by intense earthquake is obviously important. Thus, more attention has been paid to the destruction earthquake. So far, there are few studies conducted on influence dynamic loads horizontal twin tunnels. In this research, a systematic analysis tunnels Cairo Metro Line No. 4 was performed using finite element model commercial software PLAXIS 2D and under static Dahsour Earthquake 1992 time real history. Both analyses in research have taken into account effect soil structure interaction performance Also, parametric study had different parameters, which included tunnel’s depth (d), distance between (S), surrounding stiffness (E). Results showed that both expected be governed interaction. studied parameters very important design loads, especially tunnel, where these types were excavated TBM machine.
